AMT was formed in 1993, as Alternative Management Technologies, Inc., for the purpose of creating the first Windows based Software for Limousine Management. The initial versions of ALERT were developed at a large and active limousine company in New Jersey. In 1997 the two principal developers acquired the company and renamed it Applied Management Technologies, Inc.

In January 2009, AMT joined forces with The Hudson Group of North Andover MA. The Hudson Group builds, integrates and delivers reservation, dispatch, ticketing, vehicle tracking and communication technologies for transportation leaders around the world.
